What cxntion is
cxntion (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an SMS bridge service that connects self-hosted AI agents to managed SMS numbers. We route text messages between callers and your agent. We are not the AI agent, and we do not control what your agent says or does.
What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate and bill for the service:
- Access request information: email address, name, agent type, hosting target, and intended SMS use case
- Account information: email address and API key for invited accounts
- Usage data: SMS messages and segments consumed per billing period
- SMS message content: stored temporarily for conversation context between messages, then redacted after 90 days
- Caller phone numbers: used for SMS routing and conversation threading
What we do not do
cxntion is a managed SMS beta. We do not use customer SMS data to train models, and we do not sell or share mobile information for promotional purposes:
- We do not sell phone numbers or SMS data
- We do not use SMS content for model training
- We do not use SMS content for marketing or advertising
- We do not ask customers to provide Twilio, STT, or TTS provider keys
Note on SMS content: SMS messages are stored server-side to maintain conversation context across messages. Messages are automatically redacted after 90 days. Billing, routing, and abuse-prevention metadata may remain after content redaction.
SMS messaging
Reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS messages from an agent. Reply START to resume. For help, reply HELP or contact hello@cxntion.dev. SMS messages pass through our server for routing and context. Message frequency varies and is typically one reply per inbound message. Msg & data rates may apply. We do not sell, share, or use phone numbers or SMS data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than delivering the service. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional purposes.
Third-party services
We use Twilio for SMS delivery and Supabase for account data and application storage. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Your agent, your responsibility
cxntion is a bridge, not an AI provider. You are solely responsible for what your AI agent sends via SMS, including compliance with applicable laws regarding automated text messages, consent, and disclosure. We recommend informing users that they are communicating with an AI agent.
Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. SMS usage metadata is retained for billing and operational purposes. SMS message content is retained for 90 days to maintain conversation context, then automatically redacted. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Security
API keys are transmitted over TLS. Agent tunnel connections use encrypted WebSocket (WSS). We do not store passwords — authentication is key-based. Infrastructure is hosted on reputable cloud providers with industry-standard security practices.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address on your account. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
